Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Programming Process A - Type PATS When replacing the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on a PATS- equipped vehicle, a parameter reset or relearn procedure must be performed after the PCM is installed. Vehicles with PATS will not start until this on-car procedure is successfully performed. In order to get the vehicle to start, you will have to have at least one key pro- grammed to the replacement PCM. You can perform this procedure without going to a dealership or locksmith. PICTURES SHOWN ARE FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSE ONLY. ACTUAL PRODUCT MAY VARY. NOTE: It will take a total of 45 minutes, please make sure your battery is fully charged! DIRECTIONS 1. Using a transponder-chip key, turn the key to ignition ON position (not all the way to crank the motor). 2. The theft light will flash for 15 minutes. After that time, it will turn off. Turn key OFF for one second then repeat this process two more times (3 times total, 45 minutes). 3. Start vehicle!
